Personally I have the Orvis Ultralight boots and love them. Very comfortable in waders or even wet wading. I run the screw in carbide studs a lot of the time, not necessarily because they’re “needed” but I like having the added stability. I used to wear a pair of felt, and really prefer the rubber soles with or without studs.

Launching from below the dam and taking  the run down to Rio  is a good trip. Easy enough to do with a buddy, or I believe ReelFly will still do shuttles

Are you wanting to Target trout while doing this? Or you just wanna take a trip?

??? HEY don’t be giving away my secret tactics! That’s a highly advanced maneuver!

Besides you would only use that trick for the largest of bullshark specimen!

That’ll work. This’ll be a lot of nymphing and probably some streamer fishing. You don’t have to be able to throw bullseye’s every time

Well, I don’t mind showing a couple guys the ropes. That said, easiest access point is probably #5. Plenty of wadeable water up and down stream.

    How’s everyone’s casting ability?

5wt for sure, 8wt is overkill, and a 3wt is too light unless you’re experienced in playing them in quickly and getting them released

I’ll be out there tomorrow unless something comes up. Is this your first time trout fishing, or just your first time with the LAP?

Pick your battles with John lol, he’s actually a very nice guy once you get to know him a bit. If you’re respectful and polite. He may even give you permission to park at his house….

Awesome!!! Found it as I was getting off the water, and asked everyone in the area if they knew who it belonged to, with no luck. Gene, I’ll shoot you a text and we can figure out how to get your baby back to you!

Rio Raft would be perfect, there are a couple of great holes right above and below the bridge

I haven’t caught any personally, but I’ve seen a couple caught at JDL, and heard reports of a couple caught above the weir by the hideout.

By the way, how do you post pictures on here? Do you have to use a Photobucket account or something?
