I don’t understand not stocking Kanz just because people other than LAP members can access that area of the river. What about Horseshoe Riverside Lodge, #5, L&L, Meckel’s, CVC, River Bank and River Bluff. All of these are accessed by non LAP fisherman.

    This is on TU’s website:

If you recently submitted your renewal dues payment and subsequently received an additional renewal notice, please accept our apologies. It is possible they crossed in the mail. There is always a period of time between when names are pulled for the next round of renewal notice mailings and when payments are coming in to be processed. If you continue to receive renewal notices, please let us know by contacting us here or calling 1-800-834-2419.

Not sure who you need to contact for help with LAP problems but if you go to grtu.org and go to the bottom of the page, click on Contacts and there is contact information for all the officers and directors, someone should be able to help.

Kev, I think it is your account for the national TU membership that they are saying your phone # is incorrect. Log into your MY TU account click on Edit Profile then click on Name and Address, you’ll be able to change phone number and save the new information.

    Hi Jimbo,
I started Euro nymphing in 2019 with the Orvis 10′ 3wt, in my option best rod for the money/beginner, went to the Sage ESN 10’3wt in 2020 and broke it after fishing it 15 days, bought an Echo Shadow II 10’3wt to fish with while the Sage was being repaired. The Sage is a little better than the Echo but not $600 better, I use the ESN all the time only because I have it. I fish a micro leader but if I’d tried to learn Euro nymphing with a micro leader I’d have quit after the first couple of days. I’d suggest that you learn the basics before going to the micro leader. I gave up using a sighter and only use a wax that I apply to the tippet, I use Skafars, tried Hairline’s wax but didn’t like it. You can use some of the Tenkara techniques with the Euro rods.
The flies were the most difficult part, just about any fly shop will have nymphs with tungsten beads but you won’t know what the size is. I commissioned a commercial tier to tie 150 nymphs in different sizes and patterns. That got me started but wasn’t good enough, I started tying my own in Jan. 2020 and that helped a lot.
I’d suggest that you have an extra spool for the reel that you’ll use on your euro rod with a weight forward floating line one weight above the rod weight, you’ll be able to use that for dries and larger streamers.

Your TU membership needs to be good through 10-31-2022 to be able to sign up. If you need to renew/signup it would be best to renew/sign up on the GRTU web site because it may take several weeks for the information to be transferred from the national organization to GRTU.

This is from the IRS Website:
Compliance Guide for 501(c)(3) Public Charities
A public charity is prohibited from allowing more than an insubstantial accrual of
private benefit to individuals or organizations. This restriction is to ensure that a tax-
exempt organization serves a public interest, not a private one. If a private benefit is
more than incidental, it could jeopardize the organization’s tax-exempt status.

My take on this is that if GRTU were to take a small group of members and give them priority in signing up for the LAP that would be giving them a private benefit.

I don’t know any other 501(c)3 organizations that has a program like LAP, please provide a list of other similar programs.

So the GRTU chapter has 5,000 plus members and you say they all joined TU so they could sign up for the LAP? You think you should be ahead of all of them?

Wiscoy, who do you consider to be the general public? TU members are the only persons allowed to purchase a LAP pass.
