My kayak is pretty stable and maneuverable, but honestly untested at these flows. PFD, check. My gear, sparce and stowed. And yeah, I’m hesitant to use an anchor in anything but the slowest of waters, and even then with a quick release knot (had a close call once).
I was hoping GBRA would lower the flows to at least 500 to match inflows, but nada yet. If they had run it at 3000 for just a few more days they could have bought a few weeks of lower flows as Canyon refilled to 910′.
