Unfortunately that is not always true with footwear. The “life of the product” is somewhat dubious. And the polyurethane that they have been using the does not hold up and even degrade sitting in your closet and in my experience companies do not stand behind them (both Oudoor and fishing). So for Korkers to stand behind a year old pair of boots is something exemplary and will definitely get my vote and my business on my next pair of boots.
thanks for sharing!
Last year was my first time as well, it was great, I learned a lot at the casting classes (saltwater) as well as the seminars. You pretty much show up. They have a parking area all set up for the attendees. If you are doing a casting, class depending on the class, they do have some rods available but it is always best to use your own so bring it with you. The seminars are just in the various tents ect. so just grab a seat and enjoy.
Thats the way it was last year anyway so if they changed anything we will both be stumbling around trying to find our way! 🙂
And don’t forget to give youself time to wonder around checking out all the vendors booths. The BBQ was pretty darn good too!
Just to follow up on this. I did order Kold Kutters (made for motorcycle etc racing on ice) off of Amazon (sorry retailers 🙁 ) for around $21 fo 250. I screwed 3 into the toe area in kind of a lopsided triangle and 4 in a square on the outside of the heel. I went out today and they felt like a completely different pair of boots! I found they even gripped on Cypress roots! I shuffled around a lot climbing in and out of the river and didn’t lose a one. I highly recommend these things if you are looking for a little more traction. FYI I got the 3/8 size and the were just right for my Simms Vibram sole.
I did it awhile back, I think when it was about 6-650. I thought I could eddy hop my way up but at those flows it was bank to bank and about half way I thought I may not make it but ferried to the other side and worked my way up. I did tons of whitewater paddling back when and still paddle in the gulf so I would say like most things it depends on how strong of a paddler you are and what type of boat you have. But you can always just float back to the put in. 🙂
I am planning on doing it again here sometime so if you want someone to go with you let me know.
WOW! That is great news Jimbo! Several of us were talking yesterday about how these higher flows could possibly help carry our fishing into later spring and maybe summer. But if they do sustain the flows that might just guarantee it!
thanks for making my Sunday 🙂
