Yeah maybe we should have a “Lost and Found” section/sticky. 🙂
I lost a right hand H2O Express neoprene glove at the stocking last Saturday either at River Bluff or Rio parking lot. I went back after I got home that day but no luck :/
Just the one caught July 2nd at Kahn’s between The weir and patio pool. Pic posted in “ wild Guad Trout” thread. Can’t seem to get it to load again. :/
Huh Joel, I didn’t even think about it but it seemed pretty apparent that is what was going on? Maybe the low, clear (warmish) water kicked it in?
Any ichthyologists out there? 🙂
Dan Cone has taken over the fishery responsibility. Last Tuesday at the New Braunfels Fly Fishers meeting he said that the stocking is dependent on many factors, water temperature and flow being a few. When it looks like things are in line he can order the fish. When that happens LAP members will be notified. I would imagine that would be through email and possibly a notification here. That is how it has been in the past.
If you have not done a stocking I strongly urge you to participate, it is a great experience, a good way to check out the LAP sites AND we need all the help we can get!
No kidding! I went up from Rio to Kahn’s this morning and I don’t think I have ever seen it this low and gin clear. Lots of suckers lined up and trout scarfing their eggs!
Nice photos! Thanks!
So what’s the story with “Rocky Beach”? I’ve noticed the name has changed (Starts with an M ?) but the GRTU signs are gone and they have sunk pipes into the asphalt and strung cable where we used to park. I thought those might have been only temporary but last time I rode my bike by it looked to be cemented in. :/
Be mindful of the water temps. Yesterday morning, just one day after they dropped the flows, at 9:00 #5 was above 70 deg (74?) and at 10:00 above the horseshoe was just under 70 deg.
