November 12, 2019 at 8:54 am #6622I know there’s a lot of sarcasm in this thread but @JC is the 7x tippet true? lol
February 15, 2019 at 7:45 am #3374I’m interested in attending TroutFest for the first time this year but had a general/obvious question. Do attendees just show up at L&L for the expo? I know you need tickets to the Banquet and Movie Night but wasn’t sure about the different seminars and casting classes. I did notice that rsvp is available for the first casting class at the event if you’d like to practice casts per the demo schedule.
February 7, 2019 at 3:05 pm #3244I have also caught a severely injured fish before. I did as much as I could to revive it and the fish was able to swim off on its own but I highly doubt it survived since I suspect it had a broken spine π
January 13, 2019 at 9:31 pm #2815Itβs tough fishing right now since flows are really high. Check out the responses on my post.
January 10, 2019 at 8:39 am #2760I’ve never tried those but I found these to be the most cost effective:
I read about these on multiple trout blogs and they’re originally made for motorcycle racing on snow/ice but fit perfectly on wading boots.
January 4, 2019 at 9:37 am #2688Wow, thank you folks for the tips! I think I have an understanding of what my fly is actually doing vs what I thought it was doing.
Btw – to clarify, my definition of high flows were 700+cfs. I’ve been very successful at catching fish in <400 cfs so looks like I need way more work on my presentation.
@ Alex – I’ll def look into dropping the indicator
@Jimbo – after thinking about what you said, my fly is definitely doing the “V” presentation, thanks for your insight!
@Wiscoy – looks like both books are on Amazon, I’ll have some new reading material π
Thanks again everyone, I’ll be back at it again this weekend!
