As mentioned previously, on both this forum and at the chapter meeting at Troutfest where you asked the same question, the LAP members survey is set to go out this spring prior to the next general meeting.

The meeting will be held from 10am to 1pm on May 14 at (last I heard but subject to confirm) Lazy L&L. The location is not finalized, but an email and forum post will go out when the details are finalized.

We (board officers) have had two Zoom meetings and numerous emails regarding the survey and is close to being ready to send out.

None that I know of. Better technique in higher water versus the current low water conditions.

Bill pretty much covered it. Cell providers are phasing out 3G this spring so we ordered 4g capable monitors. Unfortunately there is an overlap between when 3g is discontinued and when the new boxes arrive. I’ve got a call in with the manufacturer to see if they have an updated eta on the ship date for the new equipment and will update here when I hear back.

If you are back on the river soon, drop it off at Action Angler. If it will be a while, let me know and I can get the information for the owner to you.

Saw that it arrived. I will let the member know it is at Action. Much thanks.

Bring it to Action Angler. I’ve been in contact with the owner and he is wanting it back.

    Thanks,

    Dan

The primary reason is that LAP members were attempting to access properties adjacent to this location that were not part of the lease program.

We have two more stockings planned this season.

I did not expect to see the fish so stressed when they arrived. It is typical to see some signs of stress towards the end of any stocking, which is why we try to move quickly to get them in the water.

The lesson learned is that if we are getting fish from Nebraska, we cannot take a full load and we need to have colder air temperatures in Texas so that the water on the truck stays at a colder temperature as they are being transported.

We did receive a discount on this stocking greater than the amount of fish lost, so GRTU did not have to pay for the lost fish.

Because Crystal lake doesn’t have enough fish of the size we stock this year.  These rainbows came from the hatchery that has supplied us with brown trout in past years. I’m putting together a mid season fisheries update that I will send out soon.

Thanks also to the Fisheries Committee members that came out to help me. The one at Horseshoe Lodge is still fickle but hopefully will be able to get it sorted out in the next few days.

The water temperatures reported on the Orvis report are typically a “best guess”.  Well had water temps in the mid to low sixties for most of the summer and are now seeing them into the upper 50s.
