Thanks. Any advice is helpful. I know next to nothing of fishing in CO and haven’t even booked my ticket so I’d take any and all recommendations about where to go and who to go with.

I tried a few different things on Wednesday, but I ended up having success with a #22 pheasant tail natural with no weight and no indicator sight casting to fish holding in shallow water. I landed a couple of large rainbows (thank you to those who participated in stocking, these are some nice fish) and one 3″ blacktail shiner (great for a laugh). That was probably around 11am, but the other fish I came across in shallow water later were completely uninterested. Similar to another thread, I saw some hexagenia hatching and not many of them were making it past the surface.

Thank, y’all. I have been fishing a dry dropper, but I’ve seen other folks fishing wooly buggers or worms and I wasn’t sure if that was more effective on the Guadeloupe. I’ve only fished the Guadeloupe, Yellowstone, and spring creeks in MO. In MO the hatch was pretty abundant so it was more obvious to me what the fish were eating on a daily basis. I don’t think I’ve ever recognized a hatch on the Guad and, since they’re stocked fish, I was sure if eggs or something more like a fish pellet is what those fish were looking for. I’ll pick up a few of the confidence flies that I don’t already have and try switching up my style a bit next week. Thanks again.
