It was a very successful tournament with 40 participants and 5 guides. 16 trout, 98 sunfish, 8 suckers and 4 bass were caught. The largest trout was 21 1/2 inches. It is a fun tournament with the primary goal of raising money for the New Braunfels Fly Fishers club so that we can provide funding for our various activities. We may be changing our points system to put more emphasis on trout in 2025. The number of “holdovers” caught have increased the past number of years along with the prizes. Join us in 2025 for the fun.

I think the root cause of much of this discussion is the lack of data to support any of the suppositions that have been stated in the above posts. Secondly, there is frustration among us that the board isn’t polling the membership for input. It would be good to have the data to determine how many members from the past do not renew their memberships, etc. This is a complex situation that needs data and input to solve. It is much too late this season to change.
