Here is the one that I use – https://www.feather-craft.com/fishpond-swift-current-thermometer works well and is reasonably priced.

I am glad all this worked out well for the organization and participants. To learn more about euro nymphing have been reading articles and opinions from numerous sources and happened about an article that investigated whether euro nymphing was even legal in fly fishing only stretches in a number of states – https://www.edmitchelloutdoors.com/Archives/Fly-fishing%20Outlaws.pdf – turns out that it is. I have posted for your review and enjoyment.

Just completed the survey and most questions address the valid concerns have seen on the forum and heard from members. What was missing was any questions regarding how many LAP passes should be sold? and whether or not to allow existing LAP members from the previous year to renew their LAP pass for the new season before the mad rush for the October online signup. I will assume that the BOD has already decided to keep things as they are, which is fine. Just making improvements to the process to eliminate the glitches of the last 2 years would help with the signup process. Hopefully, with the advent of the new website the problems of the past will be fixed.
Tight lines,

Bill, not sure what opinion you are referring to. The only question I asked him was why they don’t spend more time policing the parking lots since they would be able to catch folks with illegal fish. He said wasn’t valuable use of his time and that was the extent of the discussion.

Thanks Jimbo. Reason am asking is there has been some interest in going to TPWD and asking for a section of the river be setup as C&R. I believe that after almost 20 years of stocking the river we really are not much closer to developing a self sustaining fishery than when we started. While we have had some good holdovers the last couple of years and there are signs that we may have some small wild fish being produced, we still aren’t there. So some discussions among members and with Bill have leaned toward setting up a C&R section to help the fish against the poaching and providing some additional protections. In addition, in my discussions with the new game warden he told me that many of the violations he is seeing are because of what he called the confusing regulations. He stated that even he had to be schooled on what they are when he arrived on the river. Not sure why anyone is having any issues with them, I always thought that they were pretty straight forward.
So what do you think our chances of success would be? and if we decide to move forward what area would you suggest that we consider for C&R? I was think from 4th crossing to Lil Ponderosa bridge, but you know the river and TPWD much better and would appreciate your input.

West Virginia Gold Rush: a history of the golden rainbow trout
Just watched a program, fly rod chronicles, that showed a hatchery in West Virginia that raised what they called Golden rainbow trout.
Thanks Dan for the update. But note that Bill said at the February meeting that the survey would be sent out in March with a follow-up meeting in April. This is why I asked the questions. While it is good to know that the board has been addressing the current issues, it would be nice if some of this information was shared with the rest of us since communication by the board has been non-existent for a while now.
I have a cheap on too, but the switch in the end of the light keeps moving off center after just a few uses and have to take it apart and realign. Am think of buying this one https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07JZ9KQ16/?tag=acesaw-20&th=1 nice and compact and has great reviews.
Welcome back Jimbo from the normal people. Answers to your questions are:
How did the stockings go? they went well, everyone was enthusiastic and had fun.
Did Dan have enough people? Yes, we had about 40+ volunteers more than most of the end of the year stockings. In some areas the members were challenged (Dan split the group in half, 1/2 with each truck) but everyone worked together to get it done.
How did the fish look? The Nebraska fish had a number of floaters at Maricopa (~20) but the crew resuscitated most of them. As we moved down stream had a few floaters at each site, but most recovered except at the last stop – Ponderosa – where had about 10 dead from bottom of the tank. From what I understand the Crystal Lake fish were fine.Look forward to seeing you on the river and at Troutfest.
