NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: NR 23-014

Construction schedule update at Canyon Lake
CANYON LAKE, Texas — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Canyon Lake has rescheduled gate replacement work that was planned for this year.
The gates are functioning as designed and priority in sequence of repairs has changed. Work on the control tower service bridge will precede gate replacement work. As a result of this change, USACE does not anticipate disruptions to river flow releases that would have resulted from the gate replacement work. USACE intends to change over low flow releases to the Guadalupe Blanco River Authority later this week.
“Inspections and major repair work are needed to ensure that Canyon Dam and its associated water control infrastructure are properly maintained and function as designed to meet mission requirements and manage downstream risks that ultimately protect life safety and property” said Canyon Lake Manager, Javier Pérez Ortiz.
Canyon Lake staff members encourage all visitors to practice leave-no-trace, use designated trash receptacles and always wear a life jacket while boating or anytime in or near the water.
For additional information contact the Canyon Lake Office at 830-964-3341 Monday-Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

December 15, 2022 at 10:11 am #15661Scott – no. There are a total of 7. Dan still has some work to be done to get the other 3 up and running. The 4 on grtu.org are working just fine and have more than enough data points for folks to make wise fishing decisions. We will get the other 3 in, but for an ETA, get with Dan at coned@grtu.org.
November 12, 2022 at 7:14 am #1551511 am at Rio Raft. It’s on GRTU.org and our FB events page with the times and agenda.
