The point of LAP membership is that you must be a LAP member to take advantage of it. Unlimited parking means that there is not a fixed number of LAP members who can park there. Some LAP sites have a limit (say, three cars). But all LAP sites are restricted to LAP members. (Naturally, the property owner of a site can let whoever he/she wants park there, but that does not mean that anyone can park on these sites).

October 5, 2020 at 8:22 am #11451I’ve talked to a few long-time members and, although gracious, they are nonetheless not happy about how the signup process went this year. I suggest that anyone who has been a member for more than five years (that’s negotiable) and who was shut out of registration this year be allowed to join even though we’ve maxed out.

October 3, 2020 at 8:46 am #11431You make a valid point. I disagree with it, but it is worth considering.
October 3, 2020 at 8:24 am #11429I see your point, but I respectfully disagree. It would be extremely unfair for someone who has been a LAP member for a long time, say ten years, to be supplanted by someone who has never been one. Long-time members are an essential resource for GRTU. Generally, they know and abide by the rules, and they serve as mentors for younger anglers. Their past relationship with the organization, and the river, should be honored and respected.
Imagine an apartment building where all the leases were subject to a lottery every year so that people who didn’t live there could compete for an apartment with people who have lived there for years and I hope you will see my point.
October 3, 2020 at 6:56 am #11426I’ve suggested to Dustin and Jimbo that we should give priority to existing members. For example, there might be period of time, say three days, when only existing members can renew their membership. After that, LAP subscriptions can be available to anyone until they’re sold out.
October 1, 2020 at 3:38 pm #11313Hi Dustin,
When I first noticed the problem, I thought that, ultimately, it was a good thing, since I imagined the problem was due to a rush of buyers storming the doors of the store.
As I tell anyone who asks, the lease program is one of the greatest deals in fly fishing. We have tireless people like you to thank for it. So, I’m thanking you.

October 1, 2020 at 12:42 pm #11187I suggest that new members, or old members that aren’t familiar with all the leases, attend the first stocking. JDL isn’t a lease site, but you’ll get a pretty good idea of where it is.
October 1, 2020 at 12:23 pm #11171I did and I replied. If you didn’t get the response, then it’s not really fixed.
October 1, 2020 at 10:07 am #10860It seems to be working now, although slowly and with the need to refresh a few times.
September 24, 2020 at 10:19 pm #10356Dana,
There are still trout in the upper river, and as long as the water temperatures remain below 68 or so, you should be fine fishing for them. There are also trout below the dam, where the water stays very cool all summer.

September 24, 2020 at 10:17 am #10353I’ve also had problems with private messages, Ron. You might want to contact Dustin via Facebook. I think that he consults that more frequently than this forum.

September 2, 2020 at 10:37 pm #10314Great photos, Scott. I’m glad to see you fishing some beautiful waters.
Did you use a bounce rig on the Provo?
