GRTU will be hosting the 4th annual Youth Trout Camp (YTC) this January over the MLK Day Holiday weekend January 13-15, 2023, at Rio Guadalupe Resort right on the river. The YTC continues to grow each year as we build from the success stories and lessons learned from previous years. Throughout the weekend participants will get a unique opportunity to gain first-hand knowledge and experience on the Guadalupe River Trout Fishery. Kids aged 12-17 and one parent or guardian will learn about our Trout fishery, fishing knots, fly casting, how to tie flies, river ecology and water quality, kayaking and water safety, and hear from Texas Parks and Wildlife Game Wardens. The highlight of the weekend is hands down the guided fishing trip on Sunday morning. Youth anglers get a chance to fish with experienced guides and GRTU members for trophy Rainbow and Brown Trout!

Please spread the word. If you know a kid that would a good fit for the YTC, please direct them to the website for more details. Applications close on November 6th.

Also, Kids need flies. If you tie flies or have extra flies laying around the YTC will put them to use. We will also gladly take gently used gear and pass it on to the kids. Please reach out to me if you would like to donate flies or gear and we can coordinate a meetup.
