I’d like to start fly fishing on the TX Coast.  I fly fish a lot but have never tried in Saltwater.  I have a kayak so would like to hopefully find places and techniques that I do with only wading or a kayak.  I would be interested in any good resources people can point me to including guides, forums, advice etc.

    Thanks,

Would you be fishing east of Freeport or west?

Probably West, but my brother who also fly fishes is in League city so I am open to best places.  My neighbor also has a place in Matagorta, so I am lucky and have options!  I live just southwest of Austin.

I’m near Houston so I seldom fished west of Freeport. I’m sure you’re already aware of http://texaskayakfisherman.com/forum/ Ray Crawford wrote a book,

Wade and Kayak Fishing the Coastal Bend of Texas that I used, he also has one on the upper coast.
