Ive been trying all morning, looks like the site keeps crashing.

You can also find your national ID # on the mailing address of your Trout magazine from TU.

Jimbo – great essay, as usual. You should emulate Jay Walden from Abe’s and write a book.

Alex – count me in as the guy who catches only one fish (like today, even though it was a beauty 18″+ bow) but is REALLY appreciative of that one fish!. I count myself as an avid fisherman, but hope someday to be an avid catcherman.

Next time try to distract him by having one of the neighbor kids kick a football into his yard. Maybe you can get some fishing in while he’s hiding their ball and yelling at them.

That is a very nice thing to do.

So basically it looks like we have to check in at L&L, just like we do when we fish L&L. If there are poles in the old parking area, where do we park?

Typical stuff for there – small nymphs in red, black, cream; brownies liked the egg patterns. Late afternoon hatches, particularly in the flats below Texas Hole, mainly some baetis and midge clusters. Water is crystal clear now, flows were about 500-600 so easily wadeable. Good luck!

I was just there last week. Great hatches below dam, and down in the middle to lower flats, each afternoon around 6. I just waded the entire trip.

I support it. I’m tired of seeing knuckleheads put our access at risk. The rules are commonsense, are easily accessible, and are what gentlemenly sportsmen and women would do even without them. Thanks for implementing them.

Sorry to hear it. I fish the Juan several times a year (family in nearby Aztec) and always spend some time and $ at Abe’s. Jay Walden is also there – he’s a fishing author/part time guide and what passes for local color. Overall that’s a great place, and I think it was all started by Abe when they built the dam there. Passing of a legend.

I’ll plan to be there. This will be my first stocking, looking forward to it.

Can we still launch/take out kayaks from their site without being charged?

Hard to say. Some areas that are good for bank fishing require you to cross the river first; some that are good banks may be underwater at present with the high flows. Probably no other way to know but to go and check it out. Haven’t been out yet, but that’s my plan over the holiday.

I think you just respond to the email when it comes out.
