It’s been a pleasure to know you young lady. You where a Stewart of the river and sport and will be missed. Safe travels.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get anymore crazy, there are now non LAP people ( aka leaches) parking across the bridge at Ponderosa, walking across the bridge, crawling through the fence and going down the steps on the opposite site of the gate. There was 3 cars and at least 5 non members piled into Ponderosa. I don’t know if the Ponderosa owners are now letting people park their now or not. Man, what’s the point of paying for lease spots if any yahoo can park and fish every spot. Sigh.

Sounds like Alex took a long wade to find a crowd.
Like the time I arrived at #5 real early, no other cars, but found 3 guys at the big pool after S bend.
I asked where they parked and he said they walked down from Rio with Flashlights.
Been there, done that.
I’ve updated all my info and still have not received my packet.
Can someone email me the gate code so I can at least get in somewhere.

Well,
It’s a Mad House on weekends. Holidays are a Joke. I’m lucky to fish during the week.
A point system / preference is needed of some type.
Meetings, Stocking, Trout Fest , Restorations, Officer Membership, Volunteering & Years a Member should all count. Not getting a tag may also count for the next year.
Now, everyone must remember that we are only reducing the Membership access, NOT the General Public or Guide numbers. Most (not all sadly) GRTU members are courteous fisher (people) and give ample room. Heck, if I spot Ron, Jimbo, Steve or a buddy fishing I’ll wade up and chat and fish. So the point is you can’t reduce the river public pressure a whole bunch.
We also talked about more signage along the river. And my wife just walked by and said, Port a Potty’s ! lol
And lets not stock around Holiday’s.
There some good minds in the the GRTU. I’m sure they will come up with something.
Until Oct 1 at 7 am then. Remember, keep loading and trying.

Use the ramp up river off Eagle Rock. Its know to be the Yak Launch area. This gets you close & safely to the river end.
Also, Fish can hold from Potter Creek up past the Fishing Pier. And around the water draw pipes.
Also check the underground Well, that is across the point from the Cranes Mill ramp.

Who else found that pod of fish on the back side of the island at Gordo’s?
Must of been 10 of them in the small pool at one time.
I’m taking my boat out to do some scouting tomorrow on Canyon Lake.
I’ve talked to some Yakers up river and they have not been catching many yet.
The Shad have just started getting into the creeks, so it should be starting up soon.
With the low water and flow, many will spawn in coves.
May of been some land owners kids of relatives.
You’ll see it, more on weekends and holidays.
Ya, you have to hold it closed and turn the tumblers.
