Hello to the President of the Texas Women Fly Fishing club , gang ?

Nope, we have not and normally won’t stock there due to (I’m told)

It’s out of the special reg zone,

it can get a billion camper fisherman (who keep the fish),

and it gets too hot down that far.

It has some good water and I fished it years backs at 400+ cfs and actually caught two nice bows.

Although at 400, few non fisherman are effective and none there I saw had any chancer of catching anything.

But at 55 cfs, power bait in a hole can decimate it.

Maybe somebody important will chime in.

The fish are starting to bite a little better.

I ran into Jimbo today at #5 and we watched small schools swimming by, but we both caught some fair #’s.

I’ve seen a couple. It’s probably from a lack of proper fish handling.

Rainbow Trout are one the most fragile fish there is. Unlike a Bass, Catfish, Perch that can be handled and released ok.

First, they play themselves 1/2 way to death from the fight. There protective slime gets removed easy by nets or touching them.

If they touch anything dry, its worse. To drop one, usually means it’s messes it up, somehow. 30 seconds out of full water and they are messed up.

Try to keep them in the water in the net, take quick pictures holding fish OVER the water in case u drop it. Take the time to revive the fish.

Treat them like you paid for them and its a very limited resource.

Hey Dana!  I missed your fishing report.  Rocky Beach has been tough to me so far.

Please also keep in mind that Non-GRTU members on the river may be property owners or guests of property owners.

The river going to get crowded with non-members so make your badges visible.

And if your fishing a public access point, who knows who who.

Educated , Inform ……………….  (Then call TPW when out of site if they were A-Holes)

We hope to catch the fish over and over again!

Short fights, keep em wet, rubber nets preferred, revive.

    Very True Alex.

Anyone can chuck a lure out and catch a few,

just like anyone chuck a bobber (indicator) and worm/egg out and catch a few.

And as with bug fishing, the person fishing with a Dave Fox/Rainbow Warrior (example = not a stated pattern) with no indicator will catch more,

a spin cast fisherman with multiple retrieves/patterns catch more.

    Keep em Wet

Alex is an old Guad pro.

Listen to what (little) he says.

His Bro in law in lucky.

He also can cover/find remote water.  ( Can U still do Potts to #5?)
