The final stocking seems to always fall short of volunteers.
Maybe consider stocking the Friday of Troutfest ? Lots of people in the area available.
I should of went with my bad gut. Good work guys.
Speaking of bad Guts. Mine is mucho better. Not close to 100%, but good enough to try it.
I’ve been fishing being 1/2 sick. If your not sick enough you have to work, your not sick enough not to fish.
I hope no one went to Bezdek’s also. That was fake news, there’s no fish there.
I did see 7 (yes, 7) people lined up at Maricopa the other day. I bet that was a secret spot. 🙂
This is another spot better size/reg signage may help. There NOT my/our fish remember.
Troutfest is Feb. 21-23 and if you have never been, try to attend.
The river is a MAD HOUSE that weekend AND the WORD Kid Fish is Sunday the 23rd. Combined events makes River Road a road of patience.
The WORD event is Free, safe. all tackle bait provided, hot dogs, DJ, trophy’s and they stock that area heavy that day.
If you have a young fisher, with the proper gear and knowledge the kids can catch many fish. Great learning practice on hungry little rainbows.
Tourney starts around noon, but those who know show up 8-9 am and stake out a prime river spot.
GRTU fishing tip: WORD has the pull to adjust (increase) the flow for 1 day (for safety) for the event and the other river fishing can get good and/or tricky with the rise and fall.
C U on the H2O.
February 10, 2020 at 3:24 pm #9585Ohhh. Secret locations ? I like it !
Not a good time to be down with a re-occurring stomach issue. 🙁 Grrrrrrr
I cant even spell what it is. Divertculatos something
Doc says in a week I should be better.
There are no “real” secret locations, b t y.
And they were really biting dry fly’s at Bezdeck’s. :> )))
C U on the water next week.

January 29, 2020 at 2:33 pm #9217I’ve inquired about more , better & bigger signage, especially at the campgrounds.
Make us a bunch up and us anglers would help post them around.
January 24, 2020 at 9:36 am #9023Trey,
I would be willing to hook up and offer to take the other kid out. I’ll buy a pass and you give me the $.
It would take some advanced notice and planning, and we would have to hit a long wade area to accommodate 4 of us.
PM me if needed.
Heck. Its the GRTU future. Maybe in 10 years that kid will help this old man down the river. 😉 lol
Kevin
ps: Fishing is better, nice mix of fish.
January 2, 2020 at 1:18 pm #8322I heard that the Brown are delayed for reasons at the hatchery.
The reason and eta may be provided by a GRTU officer, if needed.
I do think there are going to be some BIG gator Browns.

December 13, 2019 at 12:54 pm #7680Test #2 is : An older, non technical fisherman trying to figure out how to post a picture. LOL
We met last year at Whitewater during the high flows and we scouted around with Meagan (?)
PM me if you need a fishing partner.

December 11, 2019 at 2:46 pm #7611Nice Dana ! Fat girl needs a diet. Not you, the fish.
Are you fishing without an indicator?
Swinging/Stripping both those fly’s is a great cover water technique. Note everything. Where, water cfs, drift, etc. Rock on !December 5, 2019 at 10:27 am #7391Alex on on point. The fast water is holding the active fish.
As far as areas. Some suggestions are:
Park at River Rose and walk up/down to the LDJ and tuber loop or down to Kantz.
Walk way up river from Merkels. Push to the bridge.
#5. Cross and work down to the big hole and S-Turns.
I’ve been wanting to explore around the River Bank area.
Up river from CVC can hold fish.
Way up above Ponderosa around the condos.
Work up river from Potts.
It’s a 90% of the fish are in 10% of the water.
December 2, 2019 at 1:18 pm #7286Hang in there Dana.
The fish have moved into small pockets, so you have to cover water to find them.
I also have found it was a early morning bite the other day.
I caught 10 the other day and 8 were caught before 9am. Two from 9am – 11 am.
Hope to see you again on the water.
