It’s time to change our mentality it is now 2022, what worked 10 years ago is not the way it’s going to work going forward like it or not. GRTU is a conservation entity that happens to do a fundraiser with the LAP, this program also happens to put the biggest fish in the river. At the end of the day any fish that hit the river become public property no matter if GRTU or the State of Texas put them there. Either become an active member in the Board and make changes you think are appropriate or heck go start your own conservation entity and run things how you want. There is already a struggle being able to access not only the Guadalupe River due to most of the river banks being private, but it’s the same with any other river when chasing other species. I know I appreciate the work that is being done currently and that yes I was one of the lucky few that did get a pass that gives me a little more access sites than just going through the campgrounds or right of ways. Do I like the big crowds or seeing fish being taken no, but there isn’t much that can be done, maybe stop stocking and people will stop coming; then the complaint is there are no fish in the river. Appreciate what you have and those who help put it together on a volunteer basis, I know I do.

August 11, 2021 at 10:02 am #12402Wiscoy so means people like myself who have been a part of the LAP for the last 3 years would be left out in the dark (not fair either). I have to agree with Jimbo; sucks all the way around but only way have to have equal opportunity for everyone that wants to sign up to do so at the same time and roll the dice.
March 22, 2021 at 5:43 pm #12268I kayaked/dragged my kayak from Rebecca Creek crossing down to Boat ramp# 11 on Saturday, what is super low, did find some White bass and Guadalupe bass..
