Thanks to both of you! Everyone harps on the generation schedule so I will be cognizant of that. I really would love a guide but can’t swing it. Little Red and Little Missouri seem like good bets. Are these streamer rivers? Or Nymphing?

Are the smallmouth rivers any good in early march?

Are tickets required for Troutfest, or only the film and banquet nights?

TFO overnighted a tip to me a few weeks ago no extra cost, was shocked it got there so fast.

i have never used streamers on the guad but someone here was either swinging wet flies or streamers on saturday and caught 5 fish in 30 minutes downstream of me so i am interested to see what he was doing.

ill be around thursday – saturday. with some of the tanks we stock i would recommend a 5wt, even i had trouble landing some at the head of a run i wont mention once they darted to the fast water. especially with higher flows this year, you get them in the rapids and you’ll either break tippet or have a good time running down the run.

Update here – trip was supposed to kick off this weekend. Had to cancel short notice as my mother is not doing well with a cancer diagnoses. Thanks for the suggestions everyone, will keep them and hope to get out there soon.

Thanks everyone. Excited to get out exploring. Most fun I had last year on this same style trip was above Taylor Reservoir, beautiful wild browns. Website resources are a huge help!

I have had good luck there this year, fished it three times. Caught my first brown on the guad there right before the big freeze. I never caught any sizeable fish but a good amount of 12″ers. If you can make it on the river it has been pretty slow the last week after spring break, last lull before the masses.

Was planning on making a trip to Colorado Bend Saturday but not too keen to freeze my nose off. Will update either way.
