My mistake. I thought I remembered early on to middle seeing a notification that that stocking was cancelled and that ended up being it for the season. Like December January. Like I say I could well be way off. More to the point – so water conditions are projected to allow for a full complement of stockings in the coming season?

    Thanks Alex.

(Likely a dumb question…alas…but any chance of holdover trout anywhere along the river pre 2022 stocking? Only below damn, maybe? Or useless endeavor other than some casting practice?

Apologies for my lack of observation

Unbelievable. Do you have way of identifying who these people are? I’m so done with entitlement mentality and would feel good knowing some or all of these folks received the proper fines and penalties.

every person I’ve met on the river has been exceptionally friendly (with the exception of one old grumpy Gus). There has to be a way to effectively ferret out all these self absorbed bubbas and let them go hang out with their Budweiser drinking yahoo buddies.

Nothing works like it used too anymore. Too many people. And too many people that don’t have the character of those born before about 1970.

today I watched a guy, his wife (I think, hard to be certain given the head dress) and two brats come up, throw spinners with corn, pull out two trout (in the 12-18 slot) and filet on shore  while the little kids through rocks at the fish in the river.

    ‘Merica…

It took 150 years for Rome to Fall. I’d say we are in about the 3rd or 4th inning in this America.

Alas, I stay positive. I have an eternity to look forward to. Finding enjoyment wherever I go for now. And especially anytime I have a Fly Rod in my grip.

Exact same experience and timing on Clearwater 5wt just before Christmas. Orvis customer service is exceptional. And I genuinely believe the Clearwater casts extremely well btw. Want to “upgrade” to Sky G or T&T Zone but no reason to other than to add another great rod. Should grab one in 6wt for non-trout and or 8wt for reds on Texas coast but love the 5. Maybe a 5, 6 and 8/9 – only live once and lots of folks seem to be headlining Obits lately….

Alas. Like everything else in the hill country- too many people relocating to our part of the world is having negative effects on yet another fading Texas Hill Country Treasure.
