The Bow River can have very high temperatures in the summer. Action can be very slow mid day and fishing somewhat better very early in the morning or late afternoon into dark. Have fished it a few times but not one of my favorite rivers.
The Frying Pan, despite having limited access, has never disappointed and at times can be amazing. Good action throughout the day. Most fish nymphs down the middle of the river. Try dry flies along the banks.

I usually start with nymphs but always seem to come back to the streamer. I use the same rod, just carry a second reel with streamer line. With the lower flows, I have been using a floating streamer line.
