I’m pretty disappointed to have missed out on the lap sign up this year. I leave for work at 6AM and don’t get home until 5. I have no time to sign up during the day. I’ve been a member since the day I turned 18; it was literally my 18th birthday present.  I have also spent many hours volunteering at stockings and trout fest. I really wish that it would have opened early to existing members. Oh well, at least I know how to access most every spot on the river.

This is not meant to be a knock at the GRTU leadership. I know you are all volunteers, and I am thankful for all you do. Just some things to consider in the future. Good luck this season!

I have been using Korkers for four or five seasons now. At the beginning of the second season, I had the same issue as you, Alex. A few emails later and I had a brand new pair sent to me. I am still using the same boots. They’re pretty beat up from lots of use, but they still do there job. I will definitely buy another pair of Korkers after my current pair gives out.

On second thought I would also add big Small Mouth. I love targeting them in fast water below rapids. I have caught a few in the 18-inch range that put up a great fight on a 5wt.

Growing up in New Braunfels I have fished the Guadalupe since I was a little kid. I started off fishing with bait, then lures, and now mostly fly fishing. Carp might be the only fish that lives in the river that I have not caught. In recent years, Stripers have become my favorite fish to target on the Guad. There is something special about a Striper slamming a streamer that I love! Unfortunately, they mostly come and go with floods so trout are a close second behind them.
