I have seen the same behaviour Alex. When I was young and sneaking into venues, the rule was, move fast and look confident. It pretty much always worked…
And the run below S-turn is a long slow run refered to as “Red Horse Run”. There is a riffle 2/3s of the way down Red Horse that I do not know what the name is. The two branches reconnect and your not too far from Pott’s
My only hope with feeding is to ensure we get as many fish as possible through the hot months. Any time your catching LOTS of big fish, the excitement does drop. Go spend some timne in the San Juan in NM. And that is a natural river full of big fish. This holds true for trout, bass, tuna, whater. I feel very appreciative to be able to fish a river where we can catch big fish. Thanks Jimbo!
Thanks far all you do Jimbo! Did the board give a reason for voting down the feeding?
Can’t wait for the rest of the story. I’m in Pagosa now. I’ve been here since 7/8 and head back to TX 10/10. The rain has been messing up a lot of fishing, but when I can get out,, it has been good.
I was fishing the ledge at #5 when the truck went off the bridge. It seemed like he just drove off the bridge. It was a loud bang for sure. Crews were there almost instantly.
I normally catch 2-3 pairs of sun glasses a year in the Guad…..
It would be great if we could get land owners along the river to put some of these up on their
properties as well. We could fund them, do the work of putting them up etc. The more we can have them visible the better. I think this is a great step forward!
I think this great idea and would be a good use of TU funds.
Congrats JC! Not a nicer guy on the river and he knows his stuff! He is always willing to help and teach anyone who is interested. I’ve learned a ton from him.
Let it fly in Pagosa has good intel.
I bought one of these a few years back and I love it. https://wolffindustries.com/products/atlas. they don’t get advertised, But the quality is very impressive.
Nice fish JC! Looking forward to seeing you on the river this winter!
Just make the area that is all catch and release except one fish, on artificial, over 20″, andm ake it No bait, Single hook, barbless, C&R only. That would be simple and ideal I think.
